Three juveniles were apprehended in connection with a June robbery that took place this past June near the Brookland Metro Station.
According to a Metropolitan Police Department statement, a trio of 14-year-old males was involved in a theft on the evening of June 17, when a victim’s headphones were stolen as he left the transit hub in the 900 block of Bunker Hill Road, Northeast.
According to MPD, the victim chased the suspects for a short time before handing up the stolen goods to another suspect.
The situation worsened when the victim’s acquaintance observed the criminals with the stolen headphones and confronted them. The confrontation resulted in a brawl, causing more damage to a second victim’s home before the culprits fled. The headphones, however, were found at the scene. Nearly three months after the event, on September 15, the teens were brought into custody under a D.C. Superior Court pre-petition custody order and charged with robbery (force and violence), demonstrating the gravity of the situation.
