A Miami federal judge sentenced Hava Yfrah-Austin, 58, of Hallandale Beach, to 51 months in prison Monday after she pleaded guilty to two charges linked to a $10 million fraud scheme.
Along with prison time, Yfrah-Austin must pay over $9.2 million in restitution and will serve three years of supervised release. She admitted to wire fraud and filing a false return.
Federal agents arrested her in April at Miami International Airport as she tried to board a one-way flight to Israel. Authorities said she had recently sold all her Florida properties and planned to fly to Tel Aviv on an Israeli passport.
According to court documents, Yfrah-Austin owned Accounting Solutions Today, PA, a Plantation-based company. She worked as a bookkeeper for two Miami-Dade businesses from 2001 until her firing in April 2024. Investigators say she siphoned money from at least 2018 to 2024.
The scheme unraveled when a business owner spotted suspicious transactions. Initially, Yfrah-Austin admitted to stealing $170,000, but after more fraud surfaced, she confessed to taking $3 million.
Investigators said she created fake vendor names to shuffle funds between the two businesses and into her company’s account.
