A man died Monday night after two vehicles struck him while he was crossing Union Avenue.
The Bakersfield Police Department reported that on September 15, 2025, around 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the 3300 block of Union Avenue following a crash involving a pedestrian.
When officers arrived, they found the man with severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, the man was walking eastbound outside of a crosswalk across the 3500 block of Union Avenue when a vehicle struck him. While he was still down in the roadway, a second vehicle ran over him and left the scene.
Police said the first driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
