8 Suspects Nabbed After $1.4 Million Worth Of Stolen Items Found In Southern California Theft Bust

Eight suspects were nabbed after authorities found $1.4 million in stolen merchandise in Los Angeles.

The Major Crimes Bureau-Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the case, which stemmed from a cargo theft probe.

On September 10, a search warrant was executed at a property in the 13000 block of Alameda Street in Los Angeles’ unincorporated area.

During the operation, authorities found:

  • $1.4 million worth of stolen Acer brand computers
  • Seven stolen vehicles, including a tractor (semi-truck)
  • One AK-47 rifle
  • One AR-15 rifle
  • One Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun
  • Approximately two pounds of methamphetamine
  • One 53-foot trailer

Eight suspects were apprehended on the site for accused cargo theft. The detectives did not reveal their names.

Photos of the raid revealed that the commercial premises was crammed with massive stacks of packaged goods.

“The mission of the Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team (CCATs) is to reduce cargo theft crimes by apprehending and prosecuting both cargo thieves and their receivers and by returning stolen property to their rightful owners,” LASD said. “The mission involves a close working relationship with representatives from the private sector as well as other law enforcement agencies.”
