Law enforcement agencies in Northern California and Nevada arrested 15 suspects Thursday in a sweeping cartel gang takedown dubbed Operation Daisy Cutter.
The multi-agency mission, led by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department and supported by the FBI, targeted cartel-backed gangs in the Tahoe area. Officers served search and arrest warrants in El Dorado, Alpine, Douglas, Nevada, and Washoe counties after a multi-year investigation.
Authorities said the operation aimed to disrupt gang activity, reduce violent crime, and hold cartel-linked associates accountable.
In total, police executed 13 search warrants — seven in South Lake Tahoe and six in nearby jurisdictions. The bust resulted in 10 arrests in California and five in Nevada.

California: Jaxon Babson, 24; Dakota Bertram, 29; Carlos Estrada, 26; Ernesto Estrada, 24; Robert Brown, 29; Amber Walker, 28; Kaela Horse-Berreman, 36; Roberto Guzman, 61; Josue Jacquez, 26; Joshua Van Roy, 38.

Nevada: Guadalupe Neri, 28; Noah Paul, 26; Toby Paul, 20; Levi Hayes, 24; Kayli Koffer, 24.
Charges range from possession of cocaine, fentanyl, and ketamine for sale to illegal firearms sales and probation violations.
Officials said several warrants remain active and more arrests are expected in the coming weeks.
Participating agencies included local sheriff’s departments, Reno Police, Carson City Sheriff’s Office, ATF, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, and the FBI.
