2 Men Wounded In Double Stabbing And 15 Teens Arrested

Police are investigating a double stabbing that occurred over Labor Day weekend.

At 2:34 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 19500 block of Amaranth Drive. A preliminary inquiry found that many adolescents were firing BB guns at a group of people in the neighborhood.

Two men in the group confronted the minors. During the altercation, one of the males was stabbed in the back, while the other was sliced with a knife on his arm. Both men were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

When authorities arrived, the group separated. One group fled on foot, while another sped away in cars. Those in the cars ended up traveling to a dead end on Amaranth Drive.

Maryland State Police, Maryland-National Capital Park Police, and police from the 1st District were also dispatched to assist in locating the groups. Police say they detained 15 people following an extensive search.

There were no arrests made. Officials have not confirmed whether the minors engaged in the incident were among those detained. The minors’ ages have not been published at this time.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
