A man was beaten and slashed during a robbery near the Astor Place square in the East Village on Sunday afternoon, authorities said Tuesday.
The NYPD released images of three male suspects wanted in connection with the brazen attack, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, just steps away from the famed “Alamo” sculpture.
The 24-year-old victim was standing on the southwest corner of East 8th Street and Cooper Square when the trio grabbed his iPhone, according to police.

When he sought to retrieve the phone, they hit him repeatedly throughout his body and sliced him across the left hand, according to authorities.
The NYPD reported that the suspects fled on bicycles, with their last sighting being eastbound on East 8th Street.
EMS brought the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was stable.
