15 Detained in Houston for Series of Home Invasions Targeting Asian Families And Suspects Ties to Transnational Crime Rings

People were detained in Houston for a series of home invasions targeting Asian families.

At least eight individuals were engaged in a number of crimes, including one in March in which a homeowner was attacked and his family was held in a closet while $4,000 in safes, jewelry, and credit cards was stolen.

Authorities have linked the crew to another robbery that involved the theft of a safe containing $170,000.

Kevin Alexander Parada, Roberto Guevara, and Arturo Diaz Esparza are among those accused of aggravated robbery and kidnapping, according to Click2Houston.

Federal and local officials are looking into a Houston-area criminal network tied to gangs from Mexico, Honduras, and Colombia.

Authorities have detained suspects Miguel Angel Flores-Magana, William Alexander Flores, and Ramon Carranza-Chavez.

The gang has been accused of targeting Asian households, with victims reporting attacks, threats, and incarceration.

According to ABC13, the investigation began after a Plano burglary ring was discovered and links were made through an informant, resulting in the arrests, though some charges are still pending.

The victims suffered psychological and material consequences as a result of the crimes. Investigations are underway to dismantle the criminal network. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is holding many people on theft charges, and others are subject to immigration holds owing to their residency status.
