Rogelio Izquierdo, 43, landed in custody during a narcotics operation on Sunday, police confirmed.
Izquierdo, a former major in the Cuban Ministry of the Interior and alleged godson of Fidel Castro, now faces a cocaine possession charge in Hialeah.
According to the arrest report, officers discovered a clear plastic bag containing what looked like cocaine in his pocket.
Miami-Dade Corrections released Izquierdo’s booking photo following the arrest.
