Suspect in Las Vegas Armored Truck Robbery Arrested in Texas

Man Shot, Robbed of $30K Rolex at Miramar Apartments; Suspect on the Run

Weeks after a bold midday robbery of an armored truck in Las Vegas, authorities in Texas have arrested the suspect.

The robbery occurred around 12:15 p.m. on July 16 in the 9800 block of West Charleston Avenue near South Hualapai Way. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the theft involved an armored vehicle parked outside a bank. A source close to the investigation estimated the stolen amount at $300,000.

After identifying 29-year-old Devonte Jackson as the suspect, law enforcement tracked him to Centerville, Texas. On July 29, Texas State Troopers, assisted by the FBI, arrested Jackson.

He was booked into the McLennan County Jail in Waco on charges of robbery with the use of a deadly weapon and coercion with force with the use of a deadly weapon. As of August 1, Jackson was awaiting extradition to Las Vegas.

No injuries were reported during the robbery.
