3 Women Charged in $30,000 Harris County Retail Theft Ring

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Three women have been arrested and charged with organized retail theft after allegedly stealing more than $30,000 in merchandise from several Houston-area stores, Harris County authorities announced Thursday.

Suspects identified as Jo-Lisa Tiagon, Tatyana Robinson, and Lamaya Starks were taken into custody on July 26 after deputies responded to a reported theft at The Children’s Place on the North Freeway. The suspects had reportedly returned to the store after being previously linked to retail theft incidents.

Authorities located their vehicle nearby and discovered $1,198 in stolen merchandise from The Children’s Place and $4,013 in goods from Bath & Body Works during a search. Further investigation revealed the trio had allegedly stolen $1,742.80 worth of candles in one incident and an additional 112 candles valued at $3,018.40 in another visit the previous day.

In total, the women are accused of stealing approximately $30,000 worth of merchandise through multiple thefts.

All three were charged with organized retail theft. Bond was set at $15,000 for Robinson, while Tiagon and Starks received $5,000 bonds each.

“Our deputies acted swiftly to identify and apprehend the suspects. Organized retail theft is a growing concern, and we are committed to addressing it head-on,” said Constable Mark Herman.
