District 6, 1A Girls Basketball Clarkrange Team To Beat
The official start of fall on Tuesday and the cooler temperatures in the air can mean only one thing across the Upper Cumberland, that basketball season is right around the corner.
The coaches across District Six, 1A voted on their preseason poll earlier today. Clarkrange took all seven first place votes as the pre-season favorite to win the district, after not losing a single player from their top seven. The Lady Buffaloes were in the final four of last year’s 1A state tournament before play was suspended due to Covid-19.
The number two and three picked teams were separated by only three points. The Pickett County Lady Bobcats were selected ahead of Clay County. Pickett County received five second place votes and the Lady Bulldogs received two.
The Lady Blue Devils of Jackson County were selected fourth, followed by Red Boiling Springs and Trousdale County in fifth and sixth respectively.
Gordonsville came in at seventh and Monterey finished things out for the day in eighth.
