Several school districts across the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region have announced delays following the winter storm that moved through the area over the weekend.
Snow fell across the Washington, D.C., region Sunday morning, with National Weather Service reports showing snowfall totals varying widely across Maryland, Virginia, and the District.
What to Expect Monday
The National Weather Service warns that wind chill values will range from just above zero at lower elevations to the negative teens in higher elevations. Officials say the extreme cold poses a serious risk for anyone exposed outdoors for extended periods.
Road conditions remain hazardous as crews continue treating major highways and secondary roads. Drivers are urged to use caution, especially during the Monday morning commute, as slick and icy conditions may persist.
