Santa Ana Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Drive-Thru Stabbing

Police have arrested a 35-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing another man during a confrontation in a restaurant drive-thru last weekend.

The stabbing occurred Saturday, Dec. 6, outside the Pollo Campero on 2320 S. Bristol Street. Officers arrived to find 43-year-old Christopher Abrego of Bakersfield suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital by the Orange County Fire Authority and later pronounced dead.

Investigators say Diego Sartori became involved in an altercation with Abrego before allegedly stabbing him. Detectives and AB-109 officers tracked Sartori to a Costa Mesa motel and arrested him on Dec. 10. According to the Orange County Probation Department, AB-109 officers supervise felons with past or current serious, violent, or sex-related convictions.

Sartori has been booked into Santa Ana Jail on suspicion of murder.
