A three-alarm fire at a Fort Worth apartment building Wednesday morning has displaced up to 60 residents, authorities said.
Firefighters responded just before 8:15 a.m. to a two-story complex on Gazebo Lane near Trinity Boulevard and SH 360. Strong winds caused the flames to spread rapidly through the 16-unit building. More than 90 firefighters were on scene by 9:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The Red Cross and building management are assisting displaced residents. Video from the scene shows extensive damage, including portions of the roof missing.
Atlantic Housing Management, which oversees the Hillcrest Apartments, said 15 households in Building 15 were affected and support is being provided in partnership with local organizations, including the Red Cross and Hurst-Euless-Bedford School District.
The Fort Worth Fire Department is investigating the cause, and crews will remain on site for most of the day to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
