A 79-year-old military veteran in Studio City fatally shot a naked intruder during an attempted burglary early Friday morning, an incident that also left the elderly homeowner seriously injured.
The confrontation unfolded around 7 a.m. near Tujunga Avenue and Sarah Street, after the veteran reportedly heard screams coming from a neighbor’s home, according to NBC4. When the man went outside to investigate, he was allegedly attacked by the intruder, who “body-slammed” him onto a concrete driveway. The impact left the veteran with broken legs.
During the attack, the man fired his weapon, shooting the intruder once in the chest and then in the head, NBC4 reported. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the intruder was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 79-year-old homeowner was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Aerial footage from the scene showed police tape surrounding the property as detectives processed evidence.
