The Marshall Police Department says five people have been detained in connection with the shooting death of a Marshall man in late October.
The MPD announced on Friday that Corey Dewayne Wilbert, Jr., 21, of Arlington; Demetreus Demond Hooper, 45, of Jeremy Demon Williams, 38, Trevian Dwight Leary, 28, and Jada Shakera Hooker, 24, all of Marshall, were arrested in the shooting death of Carlos Dewayne Hill, 48, of Marshall.
Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Bean Street around 8:56 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they located a male victim, Carlos Dewayne Hill, 48, of Marshall, who had died at the scene. The culprits had left before police arrived.
All five have been booked into the Harrison County Jail on accusations of murder, evidence tampering, and drug possession.
The Arlington Police Department and the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force assisted Marshall police in this investigation.
