The FBI announced Monday that four people have been arrested in connection with a mass shooting in Leland, Mississippi, that left six dead and more than a dozen injured over the weekend.
The shooting occurred early Saturday morning in downtown Leland during homecoming weekend celebrations following a high school football game. It was the deadliest of several shootings across Mississippi that weekend.
The FBI’s Jackson Field Office stated the gunfire appeared to have been “sparked by a disagreement among several individuals.”
Charges Filed
The individuals charged are:

Teviyon L. Powell, 29 – charged with capital murder

William Bryant, 29 – charged with capital murder

Morgan Lattimore, 25 – charged with capital murder

Latoya A. Powell, 44 – charged with attempted murder
An FBI spokesperson confirmed that “other arrests are pending as this investigation continues” and urged the public to provide any information they may have.
It is not immediately clear if the suspects have legal representation. According to the AP/USA TODAY/Northeastern University Mass Killing Database, this incident marks the 14th mass killing in the U.S. in 2025.
