Three Miami men are facing federal drug trafficking and firearm charges after allegedly distributing fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin from a barbecue restaurant and neighboring businesses in Northwest Miami-Dade County.
On Thursday, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida released a nine-count indictment against Antwan Bailey, 45, Eddie Gene Worthy Jr., 52, and Willie Weatherspoon, 52. The allegations include conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance, and possession of more than 400 grams of fentanyl and 30 grams of heroin. Bailey and Worthy were both charged with possessing a handgun by a convicted felon and using a firearm to commit a narcotics trafficking offense, respectively.
According to the complaint, the trio operated from a Miami retail mall approximately north of SR 112 in the Brownsville district. Last December, the FBI got evidence that people were trafficking drugs through a restaurant called Brother and Sisters BBQ Pit at 4530 NW 27th Avenue.
The FBI concluded, with the assistance of a confidential source, that the three men distributed heroin, fentanyl, marijuana, and cocaine through three shops inside the retail plaza: Brother and Sisters, Willie’s Late Nite, and Wet-N-Wild Tattoos. According to prosecutors, the common parking area acted as a delivery hub.
The lawsuit details the various narcotics purchases that the confidential source made while working with law enforcement.
“[The confidential source] made contact with Bailey in the parking lot at approximately 3:00 p.m. on or about March 18. 2025,” the complaint states. “Bailey invited [the confidential source] to enter Willie’s Late Nite with him. [They] entered Willie’s Late Night through a black door marked ‘3.’ [The confidential source] observed Bailey retrieve a bag of powder and package the powder.”
The source handed over the alleged fentanyl powder to law police. According to the lawsuit, testing revealed a 112.9-gram mixture of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and other drugs.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and the City of Miami Police Department participated in the investigation.
If convicted, the three men may face up to life in jail.
