3 men arrested in connection with armed robbery in Orange County

Police arrested three Los Angeles County men in connection with an armed robbery in Fullerton after nearly four months of investigation.

The robbery took place on May 10, when Fullerton Police Department officers responded to the 2700 block of W. Orangethorpe Avenue. According to the department’s news release, the victims were walking to their vehicle when several men confronted them at gunpoint and stole high-end jewelry.

By the time officers arrived, the suspects had already fled. Detectives later determined the robbery was targeted, and the suspects had followed the victims through several cities before striking.

On Sept. 10, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Orange County Violent Crimes Task Force—along with FPD detectives—served multiple search warrants. They recovered evidence connected to the robbery, including items stolen from the victims, the release said.

Authorities identified the suspects as 19-year-old Gavin Stafford of Compton, 20-year-old George Barragan of Whittier, and 21-year-old Donald Jones of Los Angeles. All three were taken into custody.

Police urged anyone with additional information about the robbery to contact detectives at (714) 738-6756.
