Tucson Police are looking into a violent incident that occurred Saturday night at the Jackrabbit Lounge, where patrons and staff apprehended a suspect after an unprovoked attack.
The Tucson Police Department said officers responded to allegations of an argument at the establishment. According to initial results, three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. None of the injured folks were taken to the hospital. According to authorities, the suspect has been brought to the hospital for treatment.
In a statement made on the Jackrabbit Lounge’s official Facebook page, management described the incident as “a random act of unprovoked violence” that was “incredibly traumatizing.” The post thanked workers and customers for intervening to protect others and help subdue the attacker, emphasizing the spirit of unity and community displayed in the face of danger.
“We are all very shaken up by this incident,” the statement stated, stressing that the venue would reopen on Sunday but requesting that clients “refrain from asking questions” out of respect for staff members who are still processing the experience.
The Tucson Police Department acknowledged that the investigation is still ongoing as detectives gather evidence and identify the purpose behind the attack.
