3 Detained After $46K Worth Of Copper Stolen From TVA Facility In Clay County

Authorities detained three people for stealing $46,000 worth of copper from a Tennessee Valley Authority plant in Clay County.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as Christopher Hendon, 27, Michael McFalls, 23, and Madison Ray, 26.

The thefts occurred in September and October. They also allegedly caused over $1,000 in damage.

Hendon and McFalls face allegations of grand larceny and criminal harm. Investigators accused Ray of conspiracy to commit a felony.

Hendon and McFalls are also facing unrelated accusations of residential burglary.

The trio may also face federal charges.
