Shardai Allen, one of nine people charged in Minnesota’s largest fentanyl arrest, received a three-year supervised release sentence on Wednesday.
The accused allege that Allen, 26, and eight others procured fentanyl pills from Phoenix suppliers and concealed them in stuffed animals. They then mailed them to various addresses in the Twin Cities.
Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties conducted a collaborative investigation and recovered six parcels containing more than 30,000 grams of fentanyl pills, according to the United States Attorney’s Office in 2024. The office initially charged six individuals, including Allen, but increased the number in March 2024 after accusing three more of involvement in the ring.
All of the accused pleaded guilty. Two of them are awaiting sentencing.
