2 Teens Shot On Indianapolis’ North Side; One Dies

Two teenage boys were shot Sunday afternoon on Indianapolis’ north side; one of them died.

Police said they were summoned soon after 3 p.m. to 38th Street and Central Avenue, where they discovered the boys near a car with gunshot wounds. Both were sent to nearby hospitals.

Officers discovered two firearms and arrested a person of interest who had barricaded themselves in a nearby home; the person left peacefully.

According to police, the shooting seems to have occurred in isolation, posing no continuous threat to the community. IMPD Officer Drew Brown described it as a “senseless act of violence,” stressing that rage is becoming fatal in the city all too frequently.
