2 people, ages 16 and 18, charged For Roanoke killing

Two people face murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a man on August 3 in Roanoke.

Jawward Saunders, 18, and his brother, God Saunders, 16, are facing first-degree murder and other charges, according to online court records and Roanoke Police.

The brothers are charged with the fatal shooting of Isaac Lamont Cunningham, 43, of Roanoke.

The shooting occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. on August 3, 2025, in the 200 block of 12th St. SW, when Cunningham was discovered dead outside a vehicle.
