A 14-year-old girl is still missing and her 17-year-old sister has been located after both were allegedly taken from Oakland and trafficked to Bakersfield for prostitution. Two suspects, 34-year-old Donald Edward and 20-year-old Myles Wilkerson, have been arrested.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said that on November 1, 2025, around 7:24 a.m., deputies responded to the 900 block of Sanford Drive after receiving a report of a found child.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with a 17-year-old girl who told them that she and her 14-year-old sister had been abducted from an unknown location in Oakland by two men.
According to the victim, both teens were taken to the Bakersfield area and forced into prostitution.
KCSO stated the suspects allegedly used tracking devices to monitor the girls while coercing them to perform sexual acts for money with multiple unknown individuals. Investigators said the suspects operated near Olive Drive and Knudsen Drive.
Detectives from the Special Victims Unit and the Sheriff’s V.E.C.T.O.R. Unit (Violence and Exploitation Counter Trafficking Operations and Response) took over the investigation.
Through their investigation, detectives identified the suspects as:
-
34-year-old Donald Edward
-
20-year-old Myles Wilkerson
Both are accused of kidnapping, human trafficking, and sexually exploiting minors.
KCSO said search warrants were served at the Vagabond Inn on Knudsen Drive, where investigators found evidence of prostitution, human trafficking, and child molestation.
Edward and Wilkerson were taken into custody and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Jail on multiple felony charges.
The 14-year-old girl has not been found and is considered a critical missing juvenile. She has been identified as Nevaeh Martinez.
