Deputies arrested two people and issued more than 20 citations during a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint in Lemon Grove over the weekend, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The checkpoint ran Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. near Broadway and Kempf Street. Authorities said 518 vehicles passed through during that time.
Deputies arrested two drivers for alcohol-related offenses, cited 24 for driving without a license, and cited two others for driving with a suspended license. They also towed two vehicles.
The Sheriff’s Office reminded the public that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs remains dangerous and illegal.
