Two suspects were apprehended after police found $40,000 in stolen merchandise in Chino.
Chino police were investigating a spree of thefts aimed at local retail shops.
After identifying two female suspects, police served a search warrant at a Santa Ana property, where they discovered a considerable amount of stolen stuff from Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Baby Gap, and other businesses.
Photos of the bust showed a massive pile of apparel, accessories, and water bottles from Yeti, Owala, Hydroflask, and others.
The total amount of stolen merchandise was worth $40,000.
“A U-Haul truck was required to transport the items back to the station for processing,” police said.
Officers did not reveal the suspects’ names. The stolen products were eventually returned to their respective owners.
“By working closely with retail partners, our Retail Theft Unit continues to make a significant impact in the fight against organized retail crime,” Chino police said.
