16-Year-Old Charged with Capital Murder in Fatal Forney Shooting Near Walmart

A 16-year-old boy from Forney, Texas, has been charged with capital murder following a deadly shooting over the weekend in Kaufman County, authorities said Monday.

Deputies responded around 8 p.m. Saturday to a reported shooting in the 2100 block of Juniper in Forney. When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old man from Forney dead at the scene, along with a 16-year-old boy.

Investigators later learned that two additional victims had fled to a nearby Walmart. Forney police located them—another 19-year-old man and a 24-year-old man. The 19-year-old had been shot and was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.

The 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charged with capital murder. He has been transported to a juvenile detention facility.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims or the suspect. The investigation is still ongoing.
