14-year-old And 13-year-old Detained For Shooting In Fort Wayne

A 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were detained on Thursday for their alleged roles in a Fort Wayne shooting.

On August 23, Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) officers went to a shooting investigation in the 4400 block of Bowser Avenue, where a man was discovered with a gunshot wound. The man was sent to a nearby emergency facility in critical condition. FWPD homicide investigators responded and launched a criminal investigation.

Detectives identified two suspects in the shooting: a 14-year-old male juvenile and a 13-year-old male juvenile. On Thursday, authorities apprehended both individuals in the 3700 block of Gaywood Drive. Both individuals face preliminary charges of attempted murder (acting in concert) and burglary.

Both suspects are being housed in the Allen County Juvenile Center.
