Fourteen motorcyclists linked to the Hells Angels and Hermanos Unidos motorcycle gangs were arrested Friday night after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Kern County, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).
The pursuit began around 7:47 p.m. on October 10, when the California Highway Patrol (CHP) requested backup from KCSO for multiple motorcyclists wearing suspected gang attire near Highway 119 and South Enos Lane.
During the chase, about five riders stopped at a Mobil gas station in the 19000 block of Taft Highway, while the remaining nine continued northbound on South Enos Lane.
Deputies said the rest of the group eventually yielded at the intersection of South Enos Lane and Stockdale Highway, where all 14 suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Investigators confirmed that the riders were associated with the Hells Angels and Hermanos Unidos motorcycle gangs. The KCSO Gang Unit responded to assist in the investigation.
All 14 suspects were booked on charges of felony evading and participating in a criminal street gang, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities also seized 14 motorcycles and gang jackets (“cuts”) as evidence.
