Police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the beating of a 1-year-old child who was discovered nearly unconscious in a Bronx, New York, house earlier this week, authorities said on Saturday.
Police found the child in severe condition after repeatedly punching her face inside 664 Union Ave. on Thursday. She was brought to a local hospital and is expected to live.
According to sources at NewsNation local station WPIX, the 19-year-old is the child’s mother’s boyfriend and was detained Friday. Officials say he faces two separate charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
