One person was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday after a shooting in Cabazon, and a suspect was taken into custody, authorities said.
Deputies responded around 2:11 p.m. to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 49000 block of Seminole Drive, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez.
After obtaining a description of the suspect’s vehicle, deputies searched the surrounding area and located it near Seminole Drive and Malki Road, where the suspect was arrested.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to a hospital for treatment. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
