Wildcats Up and Down Start to Baseball Season
5-3 on the season, Monterey is just looking to build some consistency on the diamond as we enter the real bulk of the season.
A win over York this week seems to be going a long way.
According to Head Coach John Looper his team is beginning to develop an edge. As well as that consistency you need to win a district championship.
They have to get sharper defensively however. Pitching has seemingly kept them in games, now defense has to win a few.
On the horizon for the Wildcats, after a road matchup Friday with Livingston Academy, is a two game set Monday and Tuesday with Bledsoe County. A district opponent.
After finding a way to sweep Jackson County and split with York, a sweep of a currently winless Bledsoe County squad, could put Monterey in the drivers seat for a district title.
It would also possibly help them build a four plus game win streak.
