The Monterey Wildcats boys basketball team experienced no hangover off their win against Clay County from Friday night, as the beat FC Boyd handily 79 to 38 Friday night in Monterey.
The Wildcats took a 55 to 10 lead into halftime as they only scored 24 second half points, with the game firmly in control.
Cayden Jones led the Wildcats in points with 14. Jones contributed four rebounds and three assist as well. Jaxon Billings added in 10 points and five assist, as he rounded out the double digit scorers for the Wildcats.
In total, 14 players scored at least one point for Monterey.
Monterey improves to 19-4, 7-2 on the season with the win Monday night. The vistory also marked the sixth straight win for Monterey.
The Wildcats will play again Tuesday night in Gainesboro, against Jackson County.
