Wildcats Get Back Into Form With Blowout Win At South Pitt

Monterey’s boys basketball team blew out South Pittsburg 83 to 60, in the region quarterfinals Saturday night.

After back to back losses in the District Six, Single A tournament, the Wildcats took out their frustrations on the District Five champions.

The Wildcats took a 33 to 25 lead into the locker room at halftime. Monterey blew the game wide open as they outscored South Pittsburg 31 to 13 in the third quarter.

Monterey’s Silas Randolph led all scorers with 18 points. Randolph added in three rebounds and four assist as well.

Peyton West contributed 18 points to go along with six assist, three steals, and two rebounds. Cayden Jones finished out the double digit scorers with 16 points. Jones added three assist and two rebounds.

Monterey will face the winner of Gordonsville and Whitwell, Tuesday night at 6 P.M. in Overton County, at Livingston Academy.
