Wilcox Finishes 2nd Overall At State Meet, Welch Comes In 22nd

Cookeville Senior Landri Wilcox wrapped up her stellar cross country career at Cookeville today by finishing in second place at the state meet with a final time of 18:05, a little over four seconds ahead of third.

Cookeville’s team finished in 13th overall with an average time of 20:51. The field was relatively close, as first-place Brentwood finished with an average time of 19:14.

Emily Coonce finished second on the team with a time of 20:22, while Annie Kate McDermott came in at 21:12.

White County’s Evan Welch competed as an individual, as she finished in 22nd place with a time of 19:24.

On the boys side, the Cavaliers finished in 21st place as a team with an average time of 18:29.

Keith Wiley led the way with a time of 17:55, while Jacob Sparks was close behind at 18:05.
