White Co Takes Down Jets Baseball In Close Game

The White County Warriors won their season opener on Monday over the Cumberland County Jets by a final score of 4-3.

After the Jets took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, Cumberland’s starting pitcher held the Warriors off the board until the third inning.

There, White scored all four of their runs to take a 4-1 lead. This was highlighted by D.J. Paul’s steal of home, which put the exclamation point on the four-run frame.

From there, the Warrior pitching staff held the Jets offense to just two more runs for the game in the win. Tucker Allen earned the win, and Dustin Guy locked down the save.

Allen also finished with a hit in three at-bats and two runs driven in.

White Co’s next game is scheduled for Tuesday against Upperman at 4:30 P.M.
