White Co.’s Malaki Dowell on Being a Mr. Football Semifinalist

Malaki Dowell is a senior at White County High School. This weekend, he was awarded this year’s Class 5-5A MVP. Across his high school football career with the Warriors, Dowell has compiled a long list of records and accomplishments. In fact, he ran for 3,201 yards this season which is second on the all time rushing list for a season. One award Malaki has yet to add to the trophy case, however, is TSSAA’s Mr. Football.

This season, Malaki was nominated again for Mr. Football, making it to the semifinal stage. In this UCSN Feature, hear from Dowell about what the award would mean to him and how it feels to simply be in consideration. He also talks about the 2022 season and looks back on his high school football career as a whole.
