Warriors Confident After Practice Round At Willowbrook

Co head coach Brandon Sims joined the White County boys golf team in Manchester on Monday for their practice round of the State Tournament.

“I thought they play pretty decent,” Sims said. “They played 18 pretty good practice holes today.”

The back 9 at Willowbrook Golf Club traditionally plays much harder than the front nine.

“They played the front nine much better than the back,” Sims said. “We started on the back and all five of the pared number 10. That was a good start.”

Tyson Welch continues to build off of a strong performance last week at region. Welch shot a 73 last Tuesday at the Golden Eagle Country Club in Cookeville.

“Tyson (Welch) shot the low round today,” Sims said. He had four or five birdies. The course is in great shape and the weather is real similar to the weather last Tuesday when we won the region.”
