Warriorette Volleyball Downs Gordonsville, Upperman

The White County Warriorettes opened their season on Monday by defeating Gordonsville 2-1 and Upperman 2-0.

After Gordonsville took the opening set by a 25-21 count, White County took the following set 25-20 to send the game to the all-decisive third set.

The Warriorettes picked up steam early in the final frame, and they closed out the Tigerettes by a 25-12 count.

Caydra Parker led the team with five kills, while Nia Powers added two kills and three blocks.

In their match with Upperman, the Warriorettes continued their roll by taking the first two sets to seal the deal by scores of 25-21 and 25-20.

Powers took over in this match, as she had a team-high eight kills, five blocks and five digs.

White Co’s next match will be on Tuesday when they take on Warren County.
