Warren County High School Pauses Football Program

“We are making this decision to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ultimately for the safety of our student athletes as well as possible exposure to our opponents.”

McMINNVILLE, Tenn. – The Warren County Football Program announced early Tuesday afternoon on their Facebook page that the decision was made to shut down operations for a 10 day period.

This comes after Warren County’s opening game vs. the DeKalb County Tigers was postponed to October 8th. It has not yet been announced if Warren County’s August 27th match-up vs. the White County Warriors is postponed or cancelled.

The 10 day period will also be used to clean and disinfect football facilities and equipment. Practice will resume on September 6th, and safety measures including temperature checks and personal water bottles will be in place.

“Please understand that we want to play,” the post reads, “however the safety and well being of our children is our first priority.”
