Upperman’s McWilliams: ‘These Kids Rallied Around Each Other’

In the wake of the F-3 tornado that struck through Putnam County on Tuesday Morning, the Upperman Bees saw their Tuesday semifinal game against Cumberland County rescheduled to Wednesday.

During the day on Wednesday, some of the players went out to help clean up and rebuild the Baxter community. They then showed up for a regional semifinal game against the Jets and won by a final score of 65-51.

It was an effort that Head Coach Bobby McWilliams said was due to the kids rallying around each other, even if the game only served as an hour and a half to escape from the trouble around the community.
