Upperman Boys Basketball Win A Thriller In Sparta

The Upperman Bees stayed undefeated on the season as they traveled to Sparta and took down White County in overtime 58-55. The Bees trailed by as many as 14 in the game and were led by AJ Nash with 16 points who left in the third quarter with an injury.

On the girls side, Upperman lost their first game of the season 61-38 to White County.

The Livingston Academy basketball teams both picked up non-district wins over Smith County with the girls winning 51-28 and the boys winning 60-50. The Lady Wildcats were led by senior Halle Ledbetter with 14 points and 7 rebounds while the boys were led by Wyatt Hargis with 18.

Pickett traveled across the border to Russell County, Kentucky and split with the Lakers. The Lady Bobcats outlasted the Lady Lakers despite a 14-2 scoring run in the second quarter 62-59. On the boys side the Lakers were too much physically for the Bobcats as they fell 76-41.

Elsewhere on the girls side tonight; The Cookeville Lady Cavs beat Oakland on the road 50-41. Van Buren County took down Monterey at home 77-54. Cumberland County topped Macon County 62-30. Red Boiling Springs over Jackson County 41-31. And Dekalb County over Stone Memorial on a buzzer beater 57-55. Clay County beat Jellico 63-24.

On the boys side, Cookeville beat Oakland 58-41. Stone Memorial took down Dekalb County 81-47. Clay County topped Jellico 80-70 on the road.
