UCSN Featured: The 1st State Decathlon Qualifier in Clarkrange History – Jaylyn Butler

Earlier this season, Jaylyn Butler – a junior track & field athlete from Clarkrange High School competed in his first ever decathlon. Last Monday, as part of the postseason’s road to the state championship, Jaylyn competed in the TSSAA Division I Small Schools Sectional Decathlon at West Creek High School. After placing either 1st or in the top 5 for each event, Butler completed the day in 1st place, moving onto State this weekend.

Leading up to the state championships, we talked with Jaylyn about his experience this season, and motivation moving into state. In this UCSN Feature, hear from Butler about his immediate success in decathlon, how he approaches each event, and his outlook on the upcoming state meet.
