UCSN Featured: Cookeville Golf

A few weeks ago, the Cookeville Cavaliers’ Golf Team competed in the TSSAA Divison I Class AA Tournament at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Daniela Pryor, a junior at Cookeville High School, was the only Cavalier to compete from their Girls’ team. In a pool of 48 golfers, Pryor finished the weekend by tying for eighth place in individual scoring.

Luke Caldwell, a senior at Cookeville, finished with the highest placement for the six Cavaliers in the boys’ tournament. Caldwell shot five under par to bring his high school golf career to a close with a third place finish out of a total of 64 individual competitors.

Joseph Agee, junior, was another high placement for the Cavaliers. Agee shot three under par for a fifth place finish. For context on how close the margins in this tournament were, the next Cavalier in play had a score of 8 over par, but a placement of 33rd of 64.

In this UCSN Feature, hear from Daniela, Luke, and Joseph about their state tournament experience, their approach to the competition, and what they take with them afterwards.
