This Week in UC Hoops: Holiday Tournaments Take Center Stage

Christmas is coming up on Saturday, but before it arrives, high school basketball will be front and center this week, with several Upper Cumberland teams taking part in holiday tournaments or classics. No fewer than 20 games involving Upper Cumberland teams are scheduled for Monday at various events. Action will continue in full force on Tuesday and Wednesday.

One game has already been canceled for Monday. Van Buren County had to forfeit their scheduled Sonic Shootout game with York Institute, set to be played Monday morning. With the forfeiture, Van Buren County will drop into the tournament’s consolation bracket, while York Institute will advance to the tournament semifinals.
