Tuesday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Upperman Wins First Game In 2 Years Over Macon County

Upperman 74, Macon County 44

The Upperman Lady Bees earned their first win over Macon County since the 2018-19 season on Tuesday by a final score of 74-44.

Reagan Hurst scored a game-high 30 points to lead the way, while Abigail Johnson added a 17-point, 15-rebound double-double

The Lady Bees will be back in action on Friday when they host Livingston Academy.

White County 70, Cumberland County 41

The Warriorettes earned a non-district victory on Tuesday in a 70-41 decision over Cumberland County.

The difference proved to be the third quarter, as White County outscored the Lady Jets by a 17-3 count to expand their lead.

Gracie Dodgen led the way with 19 points, while Mia Murray added 14 points.

White County will hit the road to Rhea County on Friday for a district matchup.

Clay County 88, Trousdale County 52

The Lady Bulldogs used a balanced scoring effort to knock off Trousdale on Tuesday by a final score of 88-52.

Four players finished in double figures for scoring, as Katie Arms led all scorers with 25 points. Rachel Copass added 13 points and six assists, and Briley Burchett scored 12 points.

Isabella Hayes rounded out the quartet with 10 points of her own.

The Lady Bulldogs have a district road contest up next, as they head to Monterey on Friday.

Cookeville 42, Stone Memorial 40

The Lady Cavs won a tight contest over Stone Memorial on Tuesday by a final score of 42-40.

Jordan Gillies led the Lady Cavs with 13 points, while Cassie Gallagher added 11 points.

Stone’s Tessa Miller led all scorers with 26 points, and Mattie Buck scored nine points.

The Lady Panthers take on Brentwood Academy on Friday, while Cookeville hosts Warren County.

Warren County 76, Rhea County 40

The Lady Pioneers earned their first district win in three seasons with their 76-40 win over Rhea County.

Kyra Perkins led a trio of double-figures with a game-high 19 points. Sable Winfree added 16 points, and Mia Hobbs scored 14 points.

Warren County will head to Cookeville on Friday.

DeKalb County 63, Smith County 47

The Lady Tigers of DeKalb County got back to their winning ways on Tuesday by defeating Smith County by a final score 63-47.

Ella Van Vranken led all scorers with 20 points, while Kadee Ferrell added a 16-point, 16-rebound double-double.

DeKalb County heads to York Institute on Friday.

York Institute 52, Watertown 47

The Dragonettes won their eighth game in a row on Tuesday with their 52-47 victory over Watertown.

Haylee Johnson scored a team-high 24 points, while Mikaela Reagan scored 13 points.

York will host DeKalb County on Friday.

Van Buren 75, Grundy County 43

The Eaglettes took home a dominant 75-43 win over Grundy County on Tuesday at home.

Emily Allen led all scorers with a 28-point outing for Van Buren, while Emma Scoggins scored 22 points.

The Eaglettes will be back on the court on Thursday when they head to Gainesboro to take on Jackson County.

Clarkrange 67, Pickett County 47

The Lady Buffaloes locked down on defense in the second half by only allowed 18 points in a 67-47 win over Pickett County.

Kaylie Monday led all scorers with 25 points, and Mattie Bush scored 17 points. Kassie Monday scored 13 points of her own in the win.

Chloe Burton led the Lady Bobcats with 18 points, while Abbi Bilbrey scored 13.

The Lady Buffaloes will head to Jackson County on Friday, while Pickett County will face Trousdale County on Saturday.

Red Boiling Springs 38, Monterey 26
