Tuesday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Hot Shooting Leads Cookeville Over York

Cookeville 73, York Institute 42

The Cookeville Lady Cavs knocked down 11 threes on Tuesday en route to a 73-42 win over York Institute.

Liv Shipman led the way with 20 points and six made threes, while Cassie Gallagher added 19 points with three long-range makes. KK Graves scored 11 points, and Jordan Gillies contributed 10 points.

The Lady Cavs’ next game will be on Friday against Blackman, while the Dragonettes will take on DeKalb County on Dec. 4

Warren County 60, Cannon County 33

The Lady Pioneers won their third game of the season with a 60-33 win over Cannon County at home.

The second quarter proved to be the difference, as the Lady Pioneers outscored the visitors 20-5 to take control of the game.

Kyra Perkins and Sable Winfree each scored 14 points to lead the team to victory.

Warren County will be back in action on Nov. 30 when they play at Coffee County.

DeKalb County 60, Red Boiling Springs 49

Freshman Ella Van Vranken put together her second consecutive 20-point game with 24 points to lead DeKalb County to a 60-49 win over Red Boiling Springs.

DeKalb County got off to a hot start on offense, outscoring RBS 22-6 in the first quarter, and 34-14 in the first half.

Kadee Ferrell added 20 points in the winning effort.

DeKalb County will hit the road to take on Grundy County on Saturday.

Sunbright 70, Monterey 46

The fourth quarter proved to be the downfall of the Lady Wildcats, as they fell to Sunbright 70-46 on Tuesday.

Trailing 46-38 heading into the final frame, Sunbright outscored Monterey 24-8 to close the game out.

Mackenzie Raleigh led the way with 15 points, while Lindsay Wright scored 12 points.

Monterey’s next contest will be on Friday against Cumberland County.

Watertown 60, Jackson County 30

Lack of offense in the third quarter led to a tough loss for Jackson County, as they fell by a final score of 60-30 to Watertown.

After falling behind 30-20 at halftime, Jackson County only managed four points in the third frame en route to the defeat.

Ericka Davidson and Riley Thomas each scored six points to lead the Lady Devils.

The Lady Devils will host MT. Pleasant on Saturday for their next game.

Upperman 64, The King’s Academy 34

Reagan Hurst continued her strong start to the season to lead Upperman to a dominant win over The King’s Academy.

Hurst led all scorers with 18 points, while Torie Brooks added 14 points. Brooklyn Crouch scored 12 points of her own in the win.

Upperman will host Bradley Central on Friday.
