Tuesday Night Boys Hoops Recap: Paul Steps Up, Leads White County To Win

White County 85, Cumberland County 72

The White County Warriors defeated Cumberland County for the third time this season with their 85-72 win on Tuesday.

Tanner Paul put together his best game of the season with a 34-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Kade Clark added 21 points.

Grant Slatten scored 16 points, but left in the second quarter after rolling his ankle.

The Warriors will take on Rhea County on Friday.

Stone Memorial 50, Cookeville 43

The Panthers earned a hard-fought district win on Tuesday in their 50-43 victory over Cookeville.

Matthew Bilbrey led the way in the win with a game-high 14 points, while Zach Boyd and Chris Coudriet each scored 10 points.

Colin Ayers led Cookeville with 11 points.

Stone Memorial will take on Clarkrange on Saturday, while Cookeville will host Warren County on Friday.

Warren County 62, Rhea County 55

The Pioneers broke into the district win column on Tuesday with their 62-55 win over Rhea County.

Dee Spates continued his excellent play of late, as he led the Pioneers with 16 points. C.J. Taylor scored 13 points, and Kaden Rutledge added 10 points.

Warren County will head to Cookeville on Friday for another big district matchup.

DeKalb County 67, Smith County 62

The Tigers took down Smith County on Tuesday by a final score of 67-62.

Jordan Young led the Tigers with 18 points, while Evan Jones scored 14 points. Luke Jenkins and Connor Close each scored 12 points.

Trailing 47-45 heading into the fourth, the Tigers outscored Smith County 22-15 to take the victory.

DeKalb County will take on York Institute on Friday in Jamestown.

Clay County 61, Trousdale County 38

Clay County continued their undefeated start in district play with their 61-38 win over Trousdale County on Tuesday.

Grant Strong led all scorers with 37 points, and he added 13 rebounds for the double-double.

Keaton Arms assisted Strong on the boards, as he grabbed 10 rebounds of his own.

Clay County’s next contest will be on Friday when they play Monterey.

Gordonsville 84, Jackson County 52

The Jackson County Blue Devils fell in District play on Tuesday to Gordonsville by a final score of 84-52.

Ramon Cuevas led the Blue Devils with 12 points, while Hayden Stacy and Chris Pigg each added 11 points.

The Blue Devils will host Van Buren on Thursday.

Pickett County 78, Clarkrange 53

The Bobcats defeated the Buffaloes on Tuesday by a final score of 78-53.

Zach Amonett led all scorers with 26 points, while Will Amonett added 12 points.

Hunter Wattenbarger scored 11 points to help seal the win.

Clarkrange will head to Jackson County on Friday, while Pickett will take on Trousdale County.

Upperman 82, Macon County 47

The Bees used a balanced scoring effort to take down Macon County by a final score of 82-47 on Tuesday.

Alex Rush led the way with 21 points, while Collin Gore followed close behind with 19 points. A.J. Nash scored 12 points and Jaxon Fox added 10 points of his own.

The Bees will take on Livingston Academy on Friday.

York Institute 71, Watertown 53

Nic Smith played one of his best games of the year, and he helped lead the Dragons to an 18-point win over Watertown on Tuesday.

Smith scored 24 points to lead all scorers, while Bryson Bilbrey added 17. Riley Cooper scored 10 points of his own.

The Dragons will host DeKalb County on Friday.
